Information for Judges
Student participation in Science Days promotes interest in STEM fields by providing hands-on research opportunities, exploration of STEM careers, and chances to win awards and scholarships.
Judges are volunteers who play essential roles in acknowledging and rewarding students' efforts on their research projects.
UMV STEM Education, Inc. partners with teachers, mentors, parents, students, and the Ohio Academy of Science to support research projects and Science Day events in Champaign, Darke, Miami, and Shelby counties, including the Regional Science Day at Edison State Community College (Piqua, OH).

We attempt to assign judges to projects in topic categories that align with an indicated preference. We also attempt to identify any conflict of interest between judges and students (e.g., school or family connections).
Please consider volunteering to judge projects at County, Regional, or State Science Days. Judges receive orientation and instruction and are expected to abide by all rules and policies. To register as a judge or learn more about judging instructions and requirements, please see these links and resources.
